The air temperatures varies from 27-33°C year around. Water temperatures around 28°C. No wetsuit necessary but lycra and pant for sun protection, but a shorty sometimes at late afternoon or early mornings on "winter time". Very stable sunny weather conditions all year round. Recommended wind for kitesurfing is wind coming from E . There is Trade wind at Isla Margarita / El Yaque, Venezuela. Nice wind in the mornings picking up during the day. At midday it´s blowing, at 15:00 it´s epic, at 17:00 it´s decreasing a bit. Gusty winds close to the beach, further out less gusty. Almost every day there´s wind. Some months are 100% with more than 4Bf every day. Always sideshore from the left (East). Best time for kiting in El Yaque is from October to the end of July. During the months of February to May, wind can be very strong and a bit more gusty from midday on. Such days are perfect to explore some of the other spots around Margarita. From August to the end of September our wind gets often interrupted for one or more days by tropical depressions approaching the Caribbean. The windy days are then blessed with very constant wind but require generally bigger kites. Wind usually blows from E on the spot. The best moments to come to Isla Margarita / El Yaque, Venezuela are January, February, March, April and May .
Beach and Tide Conditions
Kitesurfing conditions do not depend on Tide on this spot. Isla Margarita / El Yaque, Venezuela is a Shallow and Chop spot. The launching/landing area is reported to be of Small size. The beach is awesome full of palm trees. Nice white soft sand. There are special area for launch and land kites, which is very tiny. Many beach bars, restaurants and hotels. Limited space on the beach. Flat to choppy water. Huge shallow areas perfect for beginners with sandy bottoms close by (kitebeach). Kitesurfing zone is upwind of the windsurfing zone, marked by buoys.
